Lifestyle Innovation in Keihoku
Hironourin's Japanese yam
Keihoku, with its mountainous terrain and minimal flat land, may pose a challenge for conventional agriculture, yet it flourishes in nurturing a variety of vegetables and fruits, courtesy of its temperature variations.
The region's geological attributes notably favor the cultivation of potatoes, steering Hironourin's involvement towards yam cultivation. The bestowed name "Kyo-sennin" reflects a homage to the profound vitality of the yam, likening its essence to that of a hermit. By primarily vending at roadside stations, we aim to share the delightful flavor and health benefits of yam, promoting a taste of this nutritious vegetable to the community.
