Shiitake Mushroom Plantation

Did you know that there are two main types of shiitake mushroom cultivation: tree cultivation and mushroom bed cultivation? Mushroom beds are cultivated by planting fungi in artificially made nurseries. Bare-wood shiitake mushrooms are grown in an almost natural environment by planting the fungus on sawtooth oak and konara wood, where natural mushrooms are grown, and the aroma, texture and flavor are far superior to those of fungus beds.

At Hironourin, we are cultivating raw shiitake mushrooms, which are gaining popularity overseas as healthy food, with a view to exporting them.
